Nomination Title: UPS Sales Department of the Year
Tell the story about what this nominated department achieved since the beginning of July last year (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:
UPS Sales is dedicated to selling UPS transportation services and customer solutions and is represented in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.; The UPS Sales Team is actively engaged in continuous training that aligns to changing customer and industry sector needs, the integration of new developed technology enhancements as well as important environmental and sustainability initiatives.
Since July, 2008, we have identified numerous accomplishments within our Worldwide Sales Group. However, we will focus on three that are recognized as significant to our sales teams and more importantly, as providing value to our customers.
One of our most significant accomplishments has been the successful integration of our Small Package, Supply Chain, Freight, Forwarding, Distribution and Sales Solutions Group.; Our customers rely on UPS to provide transportation and logistics services across their global supply chain.; As a result, UPS recognized the need for our sales people to support UPS products and customer solutions across multiple business units.; This successful integration of UPS Sales and Sales Solutions has been well received by our customers.
UPS salespeople take every opportunity to leverage our innovative technology as part of their daily sales process and have been in the forefront of introducing new offerings that give our customers a competitive advantage.; Some of those offerings include UPS Paperless Invoice, UPS Delivery Intercept, UPS Returns® and the latest version of UPS WorldShip® which now enables customers to process and track small package, LTL freight, and air freight shipments using a single system.; In addition, UPS sales has proven experience in implementing and customizing advanced technology solutions to meet more complex customer needs, such as helping customers leverage eBay’s integration for UPS WorldShip, new enhancements to the e-commerce solutions used by Yahoo! Small Business customers, or the long-standing QuickBooks Integration. Our sales force continues to educate customers on how UPS advanced solutions make businesses more productive.
UPS has received accolades and positive media attention for its global environment leadership. The UPS Sales force has successfully leveraged the company's environmental performance, credentials, and expertise to differentiate UPS in the marketplace and in the process driven new connections with their customers. The communications mix includes sales collateral, dedicated environmental websites, invitation-only webinars, private "benchmarking" sessions with customers' VPs of Logistics and VPs of Sustainability, and hosted events with an environmental theme. As a result, customers now recognize that UPS is the green choice for managing its shipping and supply chain. UPS carbon neutral, the latest addition to our portfolio which offers carbon offsets to shippers to mitigate the carbon produced by their shipments, has opened doors for sales people to discuss the environment and creating green shipping opportunities.
With a sales force as diverse and driven as the company they represent, UPS continues to look for ways to improve on its 102 years of experience.
