Tim Holbrook is Director of Human Resources for one of the top 100 Hospitals in the United States, King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) in Ashland, Kentucky. He is part of a dynamic leadership team that has helped KDMC—a healthcare organization that provides world-class care—to be listed on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies To Work For” in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
During Holbrook’s tenure, KDMC has additionally been named one of America’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare 2008 and 2009 by Modern Healthcare Magazine; and the Human Resources team has won two Stevie Awards for Best Human Resources Department in the 2006 and 2009 American Business Awards.
Holbrook and his HR team have initiated several unique programs at KDMC, including: ~ the Tackle Box Recognition Program, which provides a tackle box full of gift cards and awards that supervisors can use to acknowledge team members for their efforts; ~ a traveling, full-service Human Resources office to provide Human Resources experts with the means to assist employees at off-site locations; ~ a home-computer purchase program that assists team members in improving their computer skills.
With 22 years of Human Resources experience—more than half of those at executive level—Holbrook leads and supports an organizational culture that is truly one of a kind: a workplace where every team member is acknowledged by his or her first name, even the CEO. Holbrook is also an integral part of the KDMC Leadership Training Team, which provides mentoring and training both to new and experienced leaders in the organization.
Away from his work, Holbrook is a leader in the Ashland community where he coaches youth sports and mentors students. He previously served on the board of directors of the local United Way. Holbrook has a Bachelor's Degree in Personnel/Industrial Relations from the University of Kentucky. He lives in Ashland, Kentucky, and has a son and daughter.
