For a list of the entry fees, click here. Because the Stevie Awards is an independent organization, we are funded almost exclusively by entry fees and sponsorships.
Q: Can entry fees be waived or reduced for non-profits and government organizations? A: Non-profit and government organizations may request that their entry fees be reduced or waived. Organizers will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to waive or reduce entrants' fees.
Q: Where can I see examples of entries that other companies have submitted? A: Most 2009 Stevie-winning entries have been published and are accessible through the listings of honorees.
Q: Are entry forms kept confidential? A: Yes. The organizers ensure that only authorized judges will review entries, and that information about nominees is not released to anyone else without prior approval. Stevie Award-winning entries will be published on the web site, but entrants will have an opportunity to redact confidential information from them before publication.
Q. Why are the submission requirements for most categories so loosely defined? A. The submission requirements are loosely defined in recognition that every company is unique in its culture, its accomplishments, and in how and why it seeks recognition. The submission requirements are structured so that each company may determine and cite its own achievements in its own way. More strictly defined requirements would narrow the focus of the awards, which the organizers did not want to do.
Q. What is the difference between a "department" category and a "team" category? A. A department represents everyone who works in a particular discipline or function within an organization. For example, everyone who works in marketing in a company, regardless of their role or position, is part of the marketing department. A team, on the other hand, is a small group of people from one or more departments. For example, a customer service team that serves a particular client, or a sales team that focuses on a specific industry.
Q: You say that entrants will only compete against other companies of their size, in their industry? How does that work? A: Whether you submit your entries through The American Business Awards web site or through the mail, you must specify your company's industry and size (by number of employees) as part of the entry process. When the final judges determine Stevie winners, they will have the option to award more than one Stevie in a category, as long as the winners are not from within the same industry and company-size classification.
Q: Who are the judges? A: Preliminary-round judges are qualified business professionals from across the United States. Final-round judges will be members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and other invited luminaries.
Q: How can I apply to become a judge? A: To complete the application to participate in the preliminary round of judging, click here. If your application is accepted you will be able to participate at your convenience over the Internet.
Q: Will the awards ceremony be broadcast? A: Yes, the awards ceremony will be broadcast live on radio by the BusinessTalkRadio Network, a network of more than 200 stations nationwide. The presentations will be videotaped and later broadcast on the ABA web site.
Q: When will the awards ceremony take place? A: The 2010 awards gala will take on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Q: What will it cost to attend the awards dinner? A: Tickets will be $395 each, or $3,800 for a table of 10.
Q: How many Finalists and Stevie winners will there be? A: The number of Finalists will be determined by the number and quality of entries submitted. All entries that receive a high average score in preliminary-round judging will automatically become Finalists. Final judges will have a lot of leeway in determining how many of the Finalists become Stevie winners.
Q: Will Finalists receive an award? A: Yes, all Finalist entries that don't win a Stevie will receive a Certificate of Finalist Recognition.
Q: Will Stevie winners and Finalists be able to purchase duplicate awards? A: Yes. Stevie winners will be able to purchase duplicate trophies and/or Stevie Winner certificates. Finalists will be able to purchase duplicate Certificates of Finalist Recognition.
